Nursery Wallpaper and Peel and Stick Wall Murals

A nursery wall is the one decision you make before the baby arrives and look at every night afterward. These murals and wallpapers let you commit to a room without committing to paint, which matters when you are renting, when you are not sure yet, or when you are doing this at 34 weeks and want it finished this weekend.

Every design here comes in made-to-measure widths, so you order to your wall rather than guessing at rolls. Choose the self-adhesive film if you want to put it up yourself and take it down later, or the non-woven paper if you want the softer matte finish that photographs beautifully.

How to Choose Nursery Wallpaper

Start with the wall, not the design. Measure the width you want covered and the height from baseboard to ceiling, then order to those numbers. Every mural here is made to measure in widths from 4 to 14 feet at an 8 foot height, so you are not buying rolls and hoping the pattern lands where you want it.

Then choose the material. Self-adhesive film is the peel and stick option: you put it up yourself, it comes off when the room changes, and it is the safer pick if you rent. Non-woven and textile papers give a softer matte surface that reads more like paint in photographs, and they are worth the extra step if this is a wall you plan to keep.

One practical note that saves returns: heavily textured walls are the enemy of any wallpaper. Smooth or lightly textured drywall holds beautifully. If your wall has a knockdown or orange peel finish, a decal set is the more forgiving choice.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is peel and stick wallpaper safe for a nursery?

The self-adhesive options here are made for interior walls and go up without paste, solvents or wet trimming, so there is nothing to air out before the room is used. As with any nursery project, hang it well before the due date and let the room breathe for a day or two.

Will peel and stick wallpaper damage my walls?

On sound, fully cured painted drywall it lifts off without taking paint with it. Fresh paint is the risk: give a newly painted wall at least three to four weeks to cure before hanging anything self-adhesive.

How much nursery wallpaper do I need?

Measure the width of the wall and round up to the next size. Murals here are sold by finished width at an 8 foot height, from 4 feet up to 14 feet, so a standard nursery feature wall is usually the 8 or 10 foot option.

Can I use wallpaper in a rental?

That is exactly what the self-adhesive film is for. It goes up without paste and comes down without a repaint, which is why removable murals have become the standard answer for rented nurseries.

What is the difference between a wall mural and wallpaper?

A mural is one continuous scene sized to your wall, so the giraffe or the balloon lands where you planned it. Wallpaper is a repeating pattern you can run across any number of walls. Both are here; murals suit a single feature wall, patterns suit a whole room.
