Can the cushion be removed and washed?
Yes, the cushion is fully hand-washable and attaches with snap buttons and a non-slip backing, so you can take it off, clean it, and put it right back in place.
Is the bookshelf sturdy enough for climbing?
It is built for sitting and reaching into the cubbies, with weight limits of 55 lbs for the seat and 44 lbs each for the top and cubbies. It is not designed as a climbing structure, so active climbing should be supervised or avoided.
How long does assembly take?
Assembly uses large screws and comes with an included screwdriver, and most parents find it manageable in under an hour without extra tools.
