Our 4 layer custom inserts are edged with black Athletic Wicking Jersey and encased in hemp cotton. These inserts are great on their own or double them between longer change periods during the day and night.
Hemp Cotton: Hemp Cotton is highly absorbent and high quality material. This dense material helps to take on a lot of liquid.
This insert offer a very trim fit and is made of 100% all natural fibers.
Tip: Wash at least 3x to prep the insert for max absorbency.

Hemp cotton is dense and naturally absorbent, so these four layers take on a lot of liquid without bulk. For best performance, wash at least three times to break in the fibers.
The insert is designed to stay trim under covers, yet stacks or folds cleanly when you need extra absorbency. Use one for daytime changes, or double between longer daytime or nighttime changes.
Edged with athletic wicking jersey for a neat finish and low bulk fit under most covers. The small snap helps keep the insert aligned inside pocket systems or with snap-style covers.
Picking the right insert depends on your baby's wetting pattern, your cover system, and how much bulk you can tolerate.
- Absorbency needs: Consider how long between changes, whether you need daytime or nighttime capacity, and whether you prefer doubling inserts for longer stretches.
- Fit and trim: Look for inserts that lay flat and match your cover size, especially if you want a slim profile for small babies.
- Fabric choices: Hemp cotton offers dense, natural absorbency with a trim feel. Natural fibers hold more liquid as they are prepped, while synthetics wick faster but can be bulkier.
- Prep and break-in: Many natural-fiber inserts need 2 to 4 washes to reach full absorbency. Follow the maker recommendation, ours suggests washing at least three times.
- Care and longevity: Wash with ordinary detergent, avoid fabric softener which reduces absorbency, and replace inserts when they show thinning, fraying, or lasting loss of performance.
