-All our wood products come untreated. IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO USE YOUR PRODUCT AROUND WATER OR OUTDOORS, we highly recommend sealing the product AFTER it’s been assembled.
-Excessive exposure to the sun and/or water and other liquids may cause warping and/or staining over time.
-Your product will arrive pre-sanded and untreated. It can easily be stained or painted once assembled. All products are wiped down prior to packaging, however, some wood dust may be present upon opening and can easily be cleaned off using a hair dryer or air compressor.
-Wood is a natural material. Variations in color, knots, texture and grain may occur.
-This product is made with Baltic Birch Plywood- a decorative hardwood plywood with veneer core.
-This product is both TSCA VI and CARB II compliant.

The curved side panels are not just for looks, they double as handles so little hands (and yours) can move the shelf without pinched fingers. It is a small detail that makes daily use a lot easier.
Three open shelves put books and toys right at a toddler's eye level and reach, so they can pick what they want and put it back without asking for help. That kind of independence is the whole idea behind Montessori style furniture.
Each shelf is cut from half inch USA Baltic Birch plywood, a hardwood plywood known for holding up to real toddler life. It arrives pre-sanded and ready to use as-is, or you can stain, paint or seal it to match your space.
A toy shelf works best when its size, layout and finish actually fit your child's room and your family's routine.
- Measure your space first: Check the height, width and depth against the spot you have in mind, including any doorway or hallway it needs to pass through during setup. This shelf stands 28 inches tall, 24 inches wide and 17 inches deep.
- Think about shelf depth: Deeper bottom shelves are handy for bins and larger toys, while shallower upper shelves work well for books and lighter items. Look at how the depths change from bottom to top so you can plan what goes where.
- Decide on finish now or later: Untreated wood gives you the option to leave it natural, stain it, or paint it to match your nursery or playroom. If you plan to add a finish, doing it after assembly usually gives the most even result.
- Consider how it will be used: If toys and books will be handled often by small hands, an open, low design without doors or drawers tends to hold up better and get used more consistently.
- Plan for assembly time: Even simple builds take a little time and a flat surface to work on. Set aside 20 to 30 minutes so you are not rushing the last step.
Is assembly hard, and what tools do I need?
Assembly is described as very easy and wood glue and hardware are included when needed. Most parents can put it together with basic household tools in under half an hour.
Can I paint or stain this shelf?
Yes. The wood arrives untreated and pre-sanded, so it is ready for stain, paint or sealant if you want a different look, or you can leave it natural.
Will this hold up if my toddler climbs on it?
This shelf is designed as toy and book storage, not as a climbing structure, so it should be used for its intended purpose only. Following the manufacturer's use guidelines helps it stay sturdy over time.
What if my shelf arrives damaged?
Because this is made to order, all sales are final except in the case of damage. You have 30 days from your purchase date to request a replacement or refund if that happens.
Does it ship free, and how fast will I get it?
Orders ship from a US warehouse with free shipping on orders over $100, and this piece is normally made and shipped within 1 to 5 business days. Our human support team is happy to help if you need an update.
Will the wood color or grain match the photos exactly?
Not exactly. Wood is a natural material, so some variation in color, grain and small knots is normal and part of what makes each piece unique.
