Our giraffe grasping toy is made using hard maple, a dense, non-splintering wood, so it's safe for baby to play with for hours! It's lightweight and easy to hold, working on all those fine motor skills that are so important early on!
All toys come sanded satin smooth and left natural with no finish. The giraffe is approximately 4.5" x 2.75" with a grasping hole in the center.

Each giraffe is cut from hard maple, a dense wood that resists splintering even after years of gumming and dropping. Every piece is sanded satin smooth and left natural with no finish, so you can feel the real wood grain under baby's fingers.
At 4.5 by 2.75 inches, the giraffe fits easily into a baby's palm, and the open center gives little fingers something to curl around. Lightweight and easy to hold, it is made for the early days of working on grip and coordination.
Add a single engraved word and this toy becomes more than a rattle, it becomes something you keep in the memory box. Many families display it next to a sonogram or first photo before it ever makes it into the toy basket.

Is this toy safe for a newborn?
Yes, it is designed for ages 0 and up, made from hard maple with no finish and attached silicone beads that meet food-grade safety standards. As with any toy, always supervise use and inspect it before each play session.
What happens if the silicone beads get damaged?
Stop using the toy right away if beads are loose, cracked, or showing wear, and discard it. Inspecting the toy before every use is recommended since beads are permanently attached and not meant to be replaced.
Can I get the toy personalized?
Yes, you can request a single word to be laser engraved on the toy at checkout by noting it in the order comments. If you want two words, such as a first and middle name, you will need to add the extra personalization option separately.
Does the toy have any coating or finish on the wood?
No, every toy is sanded satin smooth and left completely natural with no stain or finish applied. This keeps the wood grain visible and avoids adding any extra coatings for baby to mouth.
What are your shipping and return policies?
Orders ship from our US warehouse, and you get free shipping on orders over $100. If it is not the right fit, we accept returns within 30 days and our human support team is happy to help.
How do I clean the toy between uses?
Wipe the wood and silicone beads with a damp cloth and mild soap, then air dry completely before giving it back to baby. Avoid soaking the wood or putting it in the dishwasher, since this can warp or crack it over time.
