Every diaper comes with a small pouch of mycelium that you simply tuck inside the soiled diaper before you toss it. Those friendly fungi get to work helping the diaper return to the earth, instead of sitting untouched for over 400 years.

What makes HIRO diapers different from other diapers?
HIRO diapers are unbleached and designed to be soft, absorbent, and blowout resistant. Each one also comes with a small pouch of mycelium that helps the diaper break down after use instead of sitting in a landfill for centuries.
How does the mycelium pouch actually work?
After you change your baby, you place the included pouch into the soiled diaper before you throw it away. The fungi inside the pouch get to work helping the material return to the earth faster than it would on its own.
Will the diaper fully disappear once it's in the trash?
The mycelium pouch is designed to speed up natural breakdown compared to a standard diaper, which can take more than 400 years to decompose. How quickly that happens can still depend on conditions like moisture and temperature where the diaper ends up.
Are these diapers gentle enough for sensitive skin?
