Our Oval Style Tree Swing is just what the name describes; an old-fashioned rope swing, simple yet beautiful. Hand made from reclaimed Ash, each seat is kiln dried, sanded and finished to help protect it from the elements and bring out the woods natural beauty. The seat is then packaged with ¾” light brown polypropylene rope. Our swings are designed to blend in with their natural surroundings and compliment landscaping. Children will spend hours playing on their Swing and build memories that will last a lifetime.

Size & Materials: Our swing seats are made from Ash, which is an incredibly strong and durable wood. Swing seats measure 18” long, 8" wide, and a sturdy 1 1/2"thick. Our rope is ¾” diameter light brown polypropylene. This rope is smooth to the touch, shrink, stretch, rot, UV resistant and just generally looks and holds up better than sisal or manila rope.
Care: Our unstained swings are treated with a protective coat of Thompson’s® WaterSeal to help shield them from the elements. Like all natural wood products used outdoors, some upkeep is needed to keep them looking and performing their best. Depending on your local climate, reapplying Thompson’s or a similar water sealer a couple of times a year is usually sufficient. However, in more extreme conditions—such as high humidity, intense sun, or dramatic temperature swings—we recommend applying a coat of spar urethane. This finish offers added protection by allowing the wood to better flex and breathe with seasonal expansion and contraction.
Our White, Dark Brown, and Black Oval Swing comes finished with a coat of water proofing stain & sealer. We recommend adding additional coats as necessary to protect the wood.

Each seat is handmade from reclaimed Ash, kiln dried and sanded for strength and a smooth finish. Seats receive a protective coat to help resist weather and highlight the grain.
Sized at 18 by 8 inches and 1.5 inches thick, the swing fits children 5 and up and adults alike. The 375 pound weight limit means siblings can share with adult supervision.
We use 3/4 inch polypropylene rope that resists UV, rot, shrinkage, and stretch better than natural fibers. Secure mounting is essential, and professional installation is recommended for the safest setup.
A few practical points to match the right swing to your yard, tree, and family.
- Measure mounting height: Plan for at least 8 to 10 feet of clearance above the ground for a good arc, and check for 360 degree clearance around the swing.
- Pick the right hardware: Use tree straps or an eye splice with rated hardware rather than wrapping ropes directly, and choose corrosion resistant hardware for outdoor use.
- Match rope and seat size: 3/4 inch polypropylene rope is weather resistant and smooth to the touch; the 18 by 8 inch seat fits school age kids and older.
- Consider finish needs: Unstained seats come with a protective coat, but reapply sealer seasonally; choose a stained finish if you want lower visible maintenance.
- Plan for maintenance: Inspect rope and hardware regularly, recoat the wood as needed, and replace worn parts to keep play safe for years.
