The RAD Rectangular Table is a versatile, spacious work surface designed to comfortably accommodate multiple children at once. Available in multiple sizes, it is an ideal choice for schools, care centers, and homes where children gather to build, create, and play together. Its generous proportions also make it easy for parents and caregivers to sit alongside children during activities.
Handmade in our shop from premium Baltic birch wood, the Rectangular Table reflects RAD’s commitment to sturdy construction, thoughtful design, and quality materials. The durable, easy to clean high wear tabletop resists everyday wear, making it well suited for busy learning environments and long term use.
Designed to grow with your child, the table features swappable legs that allow you to adjust the height over time. Each leg includes an adjustable foot leveler, helping stabilize the table on uneven floors and ensuring a steady, wobble free surface for daily use.
🪑 Choosing the Right Table Height
The correct table height depends on how your child will sit. The most reliable way to choose is to measure from the back of your child’s knee to the floor. That measurement should be close to the seat height of their chair or stool, which will guide you to the appropriate table height.
8 inch height
• Best for infants sitting directly on the floor
13 inch height
• Works with RAD Toddler Height Magda Stool and Grow Stool
• Works with the Montessori Cube Chair
19 inch height
• Works with RAD Preschool Height Magda Stool and Grow Stool
• Works with the Skoolhaus Chair
Table legs can be swapped by hand as your child grows. Additional leg sets are available separately.

Using RAD 11 inch wide Magda Stools, maximum recommended seating is as follows:
• 24 inch by 40 inch: seats up to 4 children
• 30 inch by 52 inch: seats 6 children comfortably and up to 8 children for group activities

Instead of buying a new table every year, you simply swap the legs as your child moves from floor sitting to a stool to a chair. Each height pairs with specific RAD stools and chairs, so you always know what to reach for next.
The generous tabletop lets several children sit down together for snack time, art projects, or building with blocks. It is also wide enough for a parent or teacher to pull up a seat and join in.
The high wear tabletop is made to handle daily spills, crayons, and sticky fingers without showing it. Underneath, premium Baltic birch wood gives the whole table the strength to last through years of active use.
Picking the right table comes down to matching the height to your child's seat and the size to your space and group.
- Measure knee to floor: Measure from the back of your child's knee to the floor while they are sitting. This number should be close to the seat height of their chair or stool, which tells you the table height to choose.
- Match height to stage: An 8 inch table works for infants sitting on the floor, 13 inches suits toddler height stools and chairs, and 19 inches fits preschool age seating.
- Size up for the room, not just today: Choose the largest table that comfortably fits your space rather than the smallest one that fits your child right now. This gives room for group activities, extra chairs, and projects as your child grows.
- Plan for seating capacity: A 24 by 40 inch table seats up to 4 children, while a 30 by 52 inch table comfortably seats 6 and can stretch to 8 for group activities. Count how many children will typically use the table at once before deciding on size.
