The Recordable Book Buddy lets you tell the story—in your own voice and your unique way—even when you’re not together. At nine inches tall, it works with most popular children’s books sizes.
A quality built-in microphone allows you to record each page (or spread) to one of 21 buttons. Affix the included matching page stickers to show which button to press, and when. Attach the Book Buddy to the back cover, and the child in your life can hear you read to them anytime they like- no apps or screens required.

Grandparents, deployed parents, and loved ones far away can leave a real read-along behind. With 10 minutes and 30 seconds of recording time, there is room for a whole story.
A few things to think about so the recording works well with the books you already love.
- Match your book size: Measure the picture books you plan to use. A buddy around nine inches tall pairs best with standard hardcover picture books.
- Count the pages: With 21 buttons, you can record page by page or by two-page spread. Longer books work well when you record one button per spread.
- Check recording time: Ten minutes and thirty seconds covers most picture books. Read a test page aloud first to gauge pacing for wordier stories.
- Plan for batteries: This model needs 3 AAA batteries, which are not included. Keep a set on hand so it is ready to play the moment it arrives.
- Think about the reader: Pick a book your child already loves. Familiar words paired with your voice make the read-along feel comforting and easy to follow.
Does a book come with the Book Buddy?
No, the book is not included. You choose your own picture book and attach the Book Buddy to record your voice for it.
How do I show my child which button to press?
Matching page stickers are included. Place a numbered sticker on each page so your child knows which button to press and when.
How much can I record?
Total recording time is 10 minutes and 30 seconds across 21 buttons, enough for most children's picture books.
Do I need an app or Wi-Fi?
No. There are no apps or screens involved. You record directly onto the device and press play, so it works completely offline.
What batteries does it need?
